Georgia’s new car seat law goes into effect today, July 1, 2011. Starting today, all children under the age of 8 are required to ride in a car seat or booster.
Only children taller than 4’ 9” or with a doctor’s written excuse are exempt from the new law.
Penalties for violators are a $50 fine and 1 point on your license for first time offenders. Second time offenders are fined $100 and get 2 points on their license. Remember, our Atlanta Defensive Driving Class can help you get those points off your license.
